Black Sox split two over the weekend, losing a tight game with Plato 5-3, then pounding St. Boni 22-5.

May 11th Black Sox versus Plato

This game was the return from a serious injury for Lukas Sand, who started the game and pitched in to the seventh giving up only one run on six hits.  The Black Sox took the lead on a two run home run by Tim Campbell in the bottom of the 6th.  Plato came back with one in the 7th and 3 in the 8th on 4 hits and 5 walks.  The Black Sox left 10 runners stranded for the game.

May 12th - Black Sox versus St. Boni

The Black Sox put 7 runs on the board in the 1st inning, 6 in the 2nd and 3 in the 3rd and never looked back in a 22-5 win over St. Boni.  The 16 hit attack was led by 3 hits from Ian Walkowski, and each from  Andrew Weber, Anthony Gross, Nate Koller, and Sam Warner.  Walkowski drove in 4 runs, while Koller and Warner each had 3 RBI.  Ross Tichy picked up the win, with Mike Brokofsky finishing the final 2 innings.

On Sunday, April 28th the Black Sox opened the season with 4-2 win over Glencoe.  Mike Brokofsky, Ross Tichy and Michael Patton combined to pitch the Black Sox to victory.  Tim Campbell led the Black Sox with 3 hits and shortstop Brett Nelson turned in a sterling defensive effort.
